Grad portraits are one of my favorite types of shoots.  There’s something special about watching young adults who have just reached this major milestone – college is a lot of work, no matter what you study, what school you go to, how smart you are, how many extracurricular activities you pursue.

There’s something extra special about nursing graduates, though.  They’ve worked so hard, committed to this one profession – one that is demanding of their time, their bodies, their emotions.  They’ve spent years preparing for a job where they’ll have to restrain men bigger than them, touch every bodily fluid possible, comfort the dying, and on top of it all deal with demeaning patients and families who think their nurse is just a pretty girl who takes their temperature before the doctor fixes things.

So I had such a great time working with Laura and Michaela! They’re Marymount University graduates so we hung out on campus.  They obviously love their profession and deserve the pride of earning a nursing degree.
