Abbi and Steve’s wedding was during the height of COVID micro weddings in Fall of 2020. They found many struggles when planning their dream wedding, but knew the most important thing was getting to marry one another and start their lives together. They found the perfect venue for their intimate wedding through their neighbor, the general manager at Dirty Habit in Washington, DC. They were able to work it out to have their wedding there – something Abbi had dreamed of!

Abbi got ready in one of the gorgeous rooms at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco connected to the restaurant. Her J Crew white dress was simple but glam. She paired it with her mother’s cathedral wedding veil for a romantic bridal touch. After getting ready, she headed down the stairs to see Steven for the first time. They had their first look together in the tunnel outside of the venue leading to the restaurant. This was so adorable to capture, and I loved seeing how thrilled Steve was to see his bride for the first time!

Because of the COVID shutdowns, the hotel connected to Dirty Habit, the Kimpton Hotel Monaco, was nearly empty and we were able to use the interior freely for portraits. I was so excited to take their bride and groom portraits here! The hotel is built around what was originally the General Post Office in the 19th century – the original columns are still present and made for a fun portrait spot.

Their ceremony space was decorated with coordinated mismatched seating as well as some gorgeous floral arrangements by CPK Florals. Abbi had given her free creative vision for the day and she did an amazing job! The arrangements flanking a fire pit feature made for the perfect backdrop for a tiny wedding

After the livestreamed ceremony, the happy couple enjoyed cocktail hour on the terrace with their guests, including a sweet champagne toast. The cocktail hour was followed by dinner inside the restaurant, which is one of the coolest places in DC! The glass house made for the perfect intimate setting for an elegant yet cool and modern intimate wedding reception.
