Gabe is a friend of mine from college, and it brings me so much joy to be able to take photos of him and his girlfriend Megan! Gabe and Megan are the kind of people I don’t see often, but they’re so friendly and fun when I do! These two are clearly made for one another and it’s been a joy to follow their love story as they’ve adopted a dog together and gone on countless adventures.

I had photographed portraits for Gabe and Megan previously, at Great Falls National Park. We had so much fun at that session, Gabe wanted to include a portrait session as part of their weekend stay-cation in Old Town Alexandria to celebrate Megan’s birthday. What a great reason to take some new photos together!

Old Town Alexandria is one of my favorite portrait locations in Northern Virginia. There are so many beautiful and historic homes, cobblestone pathways, and it’s a short walk to the water. To see a full highlight of this location, click here to see more on my website!

I absolutely loved Megan’s winter look for our session! The gray sweater dress and boots combo was modern and youthful, but still matched the cozy and casual vibe of winter in Old Town Alexandria. Gabe wore a red and black flannel with jeans to coordinate. These two were dressed for the perfect winter date night in Old Town.

During our session we stopped at a couple of my go-to, favorite little spots in Old Town, including a street corner with symmetrical flower boxes on the building and the prettiest brick-and-iron gate. You’ll recognize both of those spots from other sessions in Old Town Alexandria that I’ve blogged in the past! They are beautiful any time of year.
