Brianne and Kevin live on Capitol Hill with their dog, Mala. They loved the idea of capturing their neighborhood in their engagement session. We were able to take photos at a café they like to visit by Lincoln Park, as well as the streets around their neighborhood. The rowhomes of DC in this area are iconic, and it was beautiful for their spring engagement session!

We originally scheduled our session during the end of DC’s cherry blossom peak bloom. The bad weather forced us to postpone and also stole most of the blooms away. We lucked out because Lincoln Park happened to have a few trees in bloom, which made for some sweet spring photos! I loved getting to photograph a mix of springy trees at the park as well as urban rowhomes on city streets, all in the same small area.

Their pup named Mala is adorable! We stopped by their house toward the end of our session to pick her up. We let her go on a walk with her humans, capturing photos of her spending a little time with them. The crazy girl didn’t sit still for long but she had a few tricks up her sleeve and we had a blast capturing special photos with her as the cherry on top of a fun engagement session. It’s always a fun idea to include your dog in a few photos for engagement photos!

Brianne’s ring was set with heirloom stones. I love when clients add a special touch to their engagement ring and I can’t wait to capture it in more detail on the wedding day! These two are getting married October 2022 at The Sun Room in DC. It’ll be a cool, casual celebration featuring pizza so you know it’s high on my list of weddings to look forward to this year!
