Kasia and Matt officially had their wedding and small reception during the pandemic in November 2020. Later in 2021 they took the opportunity to host a large wedding to celebrate with all of their friends and family! They finally got to have the full wedding day experience of their dreams, and it was worth the wait.

The planner, Moriah with Detail Savvy Events, is one of my favorite vendors to work with! I worked with her on Wei and Paul’s wedding in Vienna a few years ago, and then again for Grace and Peter’s wedding in Leesburg more recently. Moriah is always so upbeat and positive, and keeps everything running smoothly so I always get excited to work with her again!

Their wedding day was at the beautiful Fleetwood Farm Winery in Leesburg. I had photographed a wedding at Fleetwood Farm Winery once before, a few years ago for a tiny elopement for Shannon and Spencer. Since then, Fleetwood had built an entire wedding dedicated building on the property. They included an entire getting ready suite upstairs and the stunning reception space on the main level. I was so impressed by the beautiful details like the bar and fireplace that still also kept the space neutral so every couple can make it their own.

For their vow renewal ceremony, Kasia and Matt chose to walk down the aisle together. I thought this was a sweet departure from the typical wedding format. Once they were up there in front of their friends and family, the two couldn’t stop smiling, even when Kasia’s veil kept flying off in the autumn breeze!

The reception was one of the most fun parties I’ve ever been to! Their friends were clearly excited to celebrate Kasia and Matt, and there was nonstop dancing the whole night. They ended up with so many priceless dancing photos for them to look back on and relive the excitement.

Before the end of the night, Kasia and Matt chose to go out for night portraits under the string lights on the tasting room patio and it was so romantic. More of my couples have been opting for night portraits lately so they can get some unique photos of the two of them, while also taking a little bit of time away from the party to reconnect with each other one-on-one. I am all for it!

At the end of the night, all the guests lined up outside for a big sparkler send off, but first Kasia and Matt shared a private last dance. This is another trend I’m seeing among my wedding clients and it’s one of my favorite things to witness – another opportunity for a tender moment with your spouse, soaking in the beautiful room you’ve put so much heart into and enjoying just one last opportunity to make a memory together before the night is over.
