Oh how I miss the beautiful golden colors of fall! It’s gotten so dreary and cold outside now, and will only get worse… so for now I’ll just look at this blog post of Chelsea’s maternity session last month. Rock Creek Park was full of beautiful fall foliage and we had the last bits of golden hour to enjoy as we wandered down the path to and from Peirce Mill.
I had never visited Rock Creek Park and was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful this location is! The mill is a great meeting point and provides some fun barn-door images in the middle of Washington, DC. We had a great variety of spots all within a few minutes of walking – the barn, the mill, the creek, and a variety of foliage like the lower-hanging branches covered in golden leaves and the taller, more uniform trees further down the path. The park itself is enormous and I know we barely scratched the surface in our little bit of wandering around.
At the end of our session, Chelsea pulled out this cute homemade paper chain that counts down the days until Baby’s due date! It was such a creative idea for how to make the countdown more tangible, and made for a very fun maternity session prop!
