Melissa and Willoughby are married! These two had a beautiful fall wedding at The Manor Country Club in Rockville, Maryland. You may remember seeing these two on the blog from their engagement session! They had their engagement session at the National Zoo last year and had beautiful fall colors.

Their fall wedding had beautiful emerald colors with coral and orange colored accents. The green bridesmaid dresses made the perfect backdrop for their invitation flatlay to start the day. One of my favorite bridal details of the day was Melissa’s dress! I absolutely loved that it was a unique two piece wedding dress.

They chose not to do a first look together on their wedding day, but they did communicate throughout the day with a pair of walkie-talkies which was so adorable. It was so cute to see them talk to each other with these before the ceremony!

During their ceremony, guests were welcomed with live music. I’ve never photographed a wedding with a bagpiper before! It was a fun way for them to make the ceremony personal to them and enjoyable for all their guests. As another fun personal touch, the couple designed their welcome sign, programs, and table numbers themselves. They also made their own florals with faux flowers that turned out amazing!

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect fall day! The grounds of Manor Country Club were gorgeous with vibrant fall colors and beautiful sun all day through golden hour. This was the first time in a while that I’ve gotten to photograph golden hour portraits and it was so rejuvenating!

During the reception, you could spot a special pair of guests on their welcome table. The bride and groom had cardboard cut outs of their cats at the wedding so they could be a part of the party too! We of course had to get a family photo of all of them together.

Another fun detail from their wedding reception was their cake topper! It might be the best I’ve ever seen! The custom topper features Animal Crossing-style figures of the bride and groom and their two cats. It was so detailed that it even matches their wedding clothes and markings on the cats. This was impressive, and another amazing personal touch to make their day special.
