‘Tis the season for graduation celebrations! I had a very fun time with sweet Becca, a friend from Marymount University, celebrating her upcoming graduation with a Jefferson Memorial cap and gown session in Washington, DC. It was a decently crowded Saturday evening with plenty of school field trips, prom groups, and various tourists and locals alike but we managed to get some pretty great photos with little to no crowds (or at least crowds that were easy to edit out, haha). I really love shooting at the Jefferson Memorial because it’s got that classic DC monument vibe without the major crowds of the Lincoln Memorial. You get the memorial itself with its grand columns and stairs, the Potomac River, the Washington Monument, and all the greenery of the Tidal Basin – all within a few yards. Loved my first grad session here last year and can’t wait to go back for another grad session tomorrow at sunrise!
Also – how cute is her cap? I love that decorating graduation caps is a legit thing now because it brings so much personality and fun to the otherwise very traditional event… Becca’s Anastasia-inspired cap is so unique and perfectly fitting of her personality. Love it!
