Putting a gorgeous mom-to-be in a beautiful garden at golden hour can’t go wrong, and that’s exactly what we got with Claire and Matt’s maternity session at Green Spring Gardens Park! These two are close friends of my husband and I, so I was thrilled to capture this fleeting season of pregnancy for them. This session was extra special because this actually took place back in 2021 when I was also pregnant; Claire was only about a month further along than me, so it was so fun for both of us to experience pregnancy for the first time together and have someone to share that experience with. Now that our both of our little boys are here and so close in age, we love that they’ll be able to grow up together!

Green Spring Gardens Park is one of my absolute favorite session locations in Northern Virginia – I’ve highlighted it on my website, and many of my clients choose it for engagement or maternity photos. I love that there are a variety of gardens that always have flowers blooming, plus a beautiful pond with a gazebo. The evening light is beautiful here and it’s so easy to get beautiful images! A garden feels like the perfect setting for a maternity session as you celebrate the new little life growing within you.

Claire looked absolutely radiant for her maternity session! It was a very hot summer day, but Matt and Claire were troopers in the heat. Claire’s dress was giving all the vintage secret garden vibes, and I loved how it showed off the bump while looking unique from so many of the popular maternity photoshoot dresses. She was a gorgeous mama in a gorgeous garden and I’m so happy with how her photos turned out!
