Dana and Zach met after graduating college and have been inseparable ever since. Dana graduated from a Masters program at Georgetown University. The campus there is absolutely stunning, so it was the perfect place to take their summer engagement photos!

I’ve known Dana for years now; she was my roommate in college, so it’s extra special that I was able to celebrate her engagement and now get to photograph her wedding this June! I am always so honored to get to be a part of such exciting moments in my friends’ lives.

We decided to do a morning engagement session, and since it was summer the campus was almost completely empty. We had so much freedom to explore the campus and take photos without students around. Dana wore a beautiful blue and purple dress. It was perfect for a late summer engagement session, and flowed beautifully in the summer breeze!

After a few photos around Georgetown’s campus, we walked down by the shopping district. There are numerous bridges overlooking the canal that are so fun for portraits. Along the street there were summer flowers that made for such romantic photos. The crepe myrtles were in full bloom! Then we went down by the Potomac River waterfront where there was a view of the Kennedy Center in the background. This was a sweet, subtle nod to Dana’s love of dance, and this area is beautiful for engagement photos. I always love photographing couples by the water.

I can’t wait to see Dana and Zach again soon to celebrate them on their wedding day this June in Roanoke, Virginia!
