Gabby and Ben’s Georgetown DC engagement photos were the perfect mix of charming city vibes and golden hour glow. We met up on a comfortable spring evening to stroll the streets of Georgetown – a spot that holds so many sweet memories for them from their dating days. Gabby went to grad school at Georgetown University, and the neighborhood has been a favorite place to spend time together. So when it came time to choose a location for their engagement session, Georgetown was a no-brainer.
Gabby and Ben reached out after getting engaged a few years after we graduated from Marymount University together. I am so honored to be their wedding photographer! One of my favorite things about being a Georgetown wedding photographer is when I get to photograph couples I already know. It just adds an extra layer of connection and trust that makes the whole process flow so naturally.
As a DC wedding photographer, I always love shooting in Georgetown. The side streets are full of historic row houses, cobblestone walkways, and tucked-away gardens that create a feeling of intimacy, even with the buzz of the city just around the corner. We wandered through a few blocks and ducked into little corners for portraits that felt personal and relaxed. The golden hour light was absolutely dreamy that evening – soft, glowy, and so flattering.
Gabby looked incredible in a chic white dress with the cutest bow straps. It was such a perfect choice for a spring engagement session! She looked effortlessly bridal, and the way the two of them laughed with each other made the whole session extra special. The two of them are so easygoing and sweet. It was a joy to capture their laughter and love in a place that means so much to their story.
One of my favorite spots was the ivy-covered stone wall along the sidewalk of one random side street. The light was subtle but perfectly glowy. I also loved the brighter, open area beside Georgetown Visitation’s sports fields. The purple flowers glowing in golden hour sunlight was exactly what I look for during a session like this!
Gabby and Ben will be tying the knot this fall at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens, one of my absolute favorite wedding venues in Northern Virginia. After such a dreamy evening capturing their Georgetown DC engagement photos, I’m even more excited for their big day. Meadowlark is going to be the perfect complement to their style and sweet energy. I can’t wait to celebrate alongside them and photograph the next chapter of their love story.
If you’re newly engaged and looking for a meaningful, picturesque location for your portraits, I can’t recommend Georgetown enough. Whether you’re working with a local Georgetown wedding photographer or a DC wedding photographer who knows the area well, it’s a classic spot that never disappoints – especially with spring blooms and golden hour magic!
