Varecia and Richard met while attending Clarion University in 2013. During a trip to Florida, Richard put together a scavenger hunt for Varecia and at the end he popped the question! These two had a beautiful Celestial themed wedding at Stone Manor Boutique Inn, right here in Lovettsville, Virginia.

Richard works with one of our past brides, Kasia, so when she heard Richard was engaged she referred him to us! It always such an honor when clients refer me to their friends! I’m so glad they found me and I was able to photography their special day.

I first met Varecia and Richard at their engagement session. It was absolutely magical! We did their summer engagement photos at Shenandoah National Park and the sunset was amazing. From meeting them there, I knew their wedding day would be full of romance, and I was right!

Their wedding was a romantic stellar theme. I had never seen someone do a wedding theme like this, it was so creative and I loved it! Varecia’s dress embroidered with gold stars, the invitations designed by the couple, the starry welcome sign, constellation-themed reception table names, string lights, and the gold constellation-painted cake were all beautiful depictions of the theme.

I had never been to Stone Manor Boutique Inn before, but I loved it! The inn is so charming, with cute gardens and lots of beautiful places for photos. They have the perfect neutral space for a small indoor reception separate from the actual inn itself, as well as a tent for couples interested in an outdoor reception. Their ceremony in a clearing within the woods was one of the most intimate-feeling settings where I’ve ever photographed a ceremony.

For the wedding, Varecia made her dress, ceremony skirt, and bridal cape! I will probably always think of Varecia as my “barefoot bride” because at both her engagement session and at her wedding reception she kicked off her shoes to get more comfortable.
