Kayla and Isaac met online as so many couples do nowadays! They both were long distance for the first six months of getting to know each other. They entirely developed their relationship over texts and phone calls before meeting one another in person.
They knew each other for 4 years, often meeting up in Williamsburg, VA. Isaac popped the question during a visit to Williamsburg, because it was special to them where they spent a majority of their time together in the early days of dating.
Isaac has family living on a farm in Winchester, Virginia so they chose to have their engagement session on that property. It was gorgeous, with a view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. There was a white picket fence that was a beautiful backdrop for a romantic engagement session, and a blue-grey rustic barn that matched the colors they wore too! This property was so beautiful, and I love that it was somewhere special to them.
We had a threat of rain the whole day before the session and it rained on me a couple times driving out to Winchester, but we got so lucky with the weather and had no rain the whole time. The weather can always be a little unpredictable in Virginia, but if you’re flexible and prepared it almost always works out!
Isaac and Kayla were naturals in front of the camera for their engagement session. They have a low-key, cozy vibe that was adorable and a breath of fresh air to photograph. These two are so in love, and this whole session felt calm, relaxed, and full of joy.
Towards the end of their farm engagement session, we went to the front steps to include their dog in a few photos together. He was a good boy posing on the front porch of the family home. I often have so many couples ask if they can include their dog in their engagement photos, and of course you can!
Kayla and Isaac, thank you so much for allowing me in to capture these beautiful portraits during such a special and exciting time of your lives. I am so happy for the both of you! View some of my favorites from their farm engagement session in Winchester on the blog below.
