Peter and Grace are finally married! Their wedding day was so unique and so much fun. They had a spring wedding at the Rust Manor House in Leesburg. Their wedding day had so much color and personal touches throughout the day.
Grace found her dress at a second hand store and loved it. She knew she could make it even more perfect for her own day by having a seamstress convert the existing dress train into stunning Victorian sleeves. The new dress silhouette matched her romantic garden wedding vibe beautifully. It also had the added bonus of freeing up her skirt to float perfectly around her as she twirled!
My favorite part of this wedding, hands down, was the crazy variety of vibrant florals. The bouquets, the bride’s flower crown, and all of the decorations were made from every variety of flower under the sun and it turned out so joyful and full of life, which was what Grace had envisioned, and more.
The coordinator, Moriah, found a little sliver of painted canvas on the wall of a random classroom inside the manor and it was perfect for this medieval fantasy-loving bride’s dress photos! The woodland scene with little fairies fit her style so well, I couldn’t believe we just happened upon it in this otherwise clean and classic venue.
Their ceremony arch was made by family member and wedding party member, Kate. It was a beautiful way to tie in more florals to their day and made for a stunning spot for night portraits! I know Grace and Peter were so thrilled with Kate’s work.
During their toasts, Grace and Peter were able to use a funny family heirloom that I’d never come across before – a little silver device meant to allow the bride and groom to sip their champagne at the same time from its tiny cups. I’m not so sure it was convenient, but it sure was cute!
Grace and Peter, along with some of their family and friends, are involved in The Washington Revels, a local performing arts group. Peter’s grandfather led some of the Revels in attendance in music during the reception. If you haven’t experienced the Irish folk song Rattlin’ Bog, you’re missing out – it’s a hoot to witness in person as the whole room danced and sang with gusto!
Grace and Peter, congratulations on getting married! Your wedding day was absolutely beautiful, full of love, laughter, and lots of color! View some of my favorites from their colorful spring Rust Manor House wedding on the blog below!
