Vibrant flowers took center stage at Sarah and Nick's wedding. Beautiful neutral tones in the bridesmaids' dresses and reception decor allowed the colorful bouquets and centerpieces to pop.
The joyful abundance of flowers reflected the joyful tone of the wedding day, as Sarah and Nick were surrounded by love and support from their wedding party full of friends and family, to their Catholic ceremony featuring seven priests, to their raucous dance floor, and every moment in between.
We traveled to the nearby Walker Nature Center for some peaceful bride and groom portraits with a more serene and natural backdrop between the ceremony and reception. It was a welcome reprieve from the busy urban setting of the rest of the day, and I know Sarah and Nick appreciated the opportunity to get away from the busyness of their wedding to soak in a bit of time together before the big party.
I will forever be obsessed with their incredible floral installation above the dance floor at the reception! Annie from Floriography created magic with a variety of colorful single-stem flowers hanging from the chandeliers, providing a pop of color to the dance floor images.
As members of the Catholic communities of Youth Apostles and Women Youth Apostles, Nick and Sarah had an incredible show of support from their friends and family, as well as from their community members and the students they've encountered in their ministry. Their faith is so clearly integral to their lives from the reverence of their ceremony, including 7 priests presiding over the Nuptial Mass and who each came up to the pair to congratulate them with hugs during the Exchange of Peace. Witnessing the sacrament of the Nuptial Mass and true reverence from the bride and groom is the best part of being a Catholic wedding photographer.

"The most important part of our wedding day was gathering all our loved ones together for Mass to witness our Sacrament. When choosing a photographer, it was important to us to have someone who understood and respected the solemnity of the Mass but who could also capture those small intimate moments we didn't want to forget. We also really wanted someone to capture all our family and friends who were at the party after!"
"Working with Emily to make our wedding album after our wedding was so fun! She helped us tell the story of the day just how we remember it being! We are so grateful for the beautiful work she did, and happy to call her a friend!"
